Nativ of Pennsylvania came to Scipio Township in 1827. Born November 20, 1798, died September 8, 1881.
He was a blacksmith, gunsmith and sickle-maker by trade. In his momestead still remains a wheel turning a
grindstone for boring gun barrels. His guns were made out of bars of iron and often made for Indians. Married to Hannah Swander they had three children, Christine, Joel and Adsalom. |
